Release of "Lipovitan G," a New Quasi-Drug Small-Drink 
Containing a Vitamin B1 Derivative, Dicethiamine Hydrochloride


 

Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) will release "Lipovitan G," a quasi-drug small-drink, on September 27 (one bottle: 294 yen, tax included). 

"Lipovitan G" contains 10 active ingredients, which include dicethiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1 derivative), taurine, vitamin E and eucommia. It is highly effective in nourishing and strengthening the body and providing nutritional support.
Dicethiamine hydrochloride promotes decomposition of lactic acid, which is a cause of fatigue, and assists in the production of energy from glucose. Although it was said it would be difficult to include dicethiamine hydrochloride in a drink because it has a distinctive bitter taste, Taisho’s masking technique has created a tonic with a "bitter- plum" flavor, which makes it easy to consume.

Since the deregulation of pharmaceutical product sales in March 1999, we have been carrying out various promotional activities at convenience stores and supermarkets in order to attract new energy drink users, and to expand the energy drink market. The launch of "Lipovitan G" takes the Lipovitan line of products on the market to nine.
