Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) is to launch "Semper QT <Junior>", a motion sickness remedy for children, on February 17. "Semper QT <Junior>", which uses "Zydis" technology, dissolves almost instantly on contact with water. Thanks to this technology, it is effective even when motion sickness has already begun and is easy to take, even for children, as it dissolves instantly on contact with saliva in the mouth and need not be taken with water. In a survey conducted by Taisho Pharmaceutical, the most common requirements of motion sickness remedies cited by users were "can be taken immediately, without water, and convenient for use when on the move", "effective action" and "effective even when motion sickness has already begun". The new motion sickness remedy "Semper QT <Junior>" meets exactly these needs. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the "Semper" brand in 1953. Over the years, Taisho Pharmaceutical has expanded the series in response to user needs, developing new product formats and modifying initial prescriptions and "Semper" has become Japan's leading brand of motion sickness remedies. The addition of "Semper QT <Junior>" further strengthens the Semper series. About "Zydis" technology A technology for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products patented worldwide by the British company R. P. Scherer Corp. The technology is an adaptation of freeze-drying techniques used in the manufacture of food products such as instant coffee, and involves freezing then drying a liquid to form a highly porous sponge-like solid that dissolves quickly on contact with water.
