Taisho Pharmaceutical has been supporting the Japan National Rugby team as an official sponsor since 2001. Rugby is a sport that values fair play, and embodies true sportsmanship where players compete with full commitment during the match but, once it ends, show mutual respect and celebrate each other’s efforts regardless of the outcome—embodying the spirit of “no side (no friend or foe),” which transcends the distinction between opponents. This principle aligns with our company’s philosophy of shinsho (“gentlemanly business”)—a commitment to conducting business with dignity and integrity. By supporting New Zealand’s globally renowned national team, we aim to bring world-class rugby experiences and spirit to Japan while integrating these insights into our partnership activities with the Japan national team.
In April 2022, we signed a Lipovitan Ambassador agreement with Mr. Richie McCaw and Mr. Dan Carter, two legendary former All Blacks players. Together, we host rugby clinics for elementary, junior high, and high school students, fostering the next generation of Japanese rugby players. We also lead initiatives to expand the rugby fan base by creating opportunities for people in Japan to experience world-class rugby. We will continue working with our ambassadors to build a more inclusive and engaging rugby environment, contributing to the long-term growth of Japanese rugby.

Taisho Pharmaceutical supports both professional and amateur baseball.
In professional baseball, we have served as a special sponsor of the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) Amateur Player Drafts since 2013. We have also served as the main sponsor of the NPB Awards since 2014 and an NPB partner since 2016.
In amateur baseball, we support the World Children’s Baseball Foundation, an initiative founded by Mr. Sadaharu Oh and the late Hank Aaron. Through this partnership, we sponsor the World Children's Baseball Fair and baseball clinics.

At the same time, we embarked on our support for a program aimed at leading junior female players in the six to eleventh grades, entitled Kimiko Date x Yonex Project: Go for the Grand Slam. This initiative nurtures young athletes aspiring to compete in Junior Grand Slam tournaments, helping them pursue professional careers on the global stage.
