Furthermore, we have supported the Disaster Relief Volunteer Promotion Committee since 1997. This association trains disaster preparedness leaders based on the lessons of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

At the Head Office, Taisho Pharmaceutical accepts workplace visits by students as part of their career education support. Our program provides easy-to-understand information on correct knowledge, including the differences between OTC drugs and prescription pharmaceuticals, as well as detailed information on laws and systems, such as the safety classification of OTC drugs. In addition, we are building a curriculum that will help students develop an interest in the pharmaceutical industry by introducing the process from research and development to clinical and manufacturing until pharmaceuticals are made, and various technologies and ingenuity there. Additionally, our employees visit high schools and universities to deliver marketing lectures, covering essential business concepts not typically included in standard coursework. These sessions equip students with practical knowledge and real-world insights.

We have been holding Life Science Forums since 1986 for science journalists in various media, with the goal of providing a wide array of the latest life science information. We postponed the events in 2020 and 2021 due to the spread of COVID-19, but resumed in April 2022.
A total of two events had been held in fiscal 2023. Professor Hitoshi Kurumizaka (Chromatin Structure and Function Research, Institute for Quantitative Biosciences, The University of Tokyo) and Dr. Hiroshi Ohno (Deputy Director, RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences), both of whom won the Uehara Prize in 2022, gave lectures. Each session fosters a lively question-and-answer session with exchange of opinions among participants.

Our overseas subsidiaries, Taisho Pharmaceutical (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Osotspa Taisho Co., Ltd., conduct annual reforestation efforts at the Island and Sea Natural History Museum in the Sattahip District, Chonburi Province. In 2024, their focus was on revitalizing mangrove forests in an area with particularly challenging geographic conditions.
To support sustainable mangrove growth, they adopted an innovative reforestation technique developed by the Royal Thai Navy Special Warfare Command. This method involves embedding pipes into rocky seabeds and planting mangrove saplings within them. By applying fertilizer at the base and covering the roots with gravel, the technique prevents displacement by tidal waves. This initiative is expected to help mangroves take root and thrive, even in harsh environments.
