Privacy policy

The Company recognizes protection of the interests and personal information of individuals as an important responsibility and will adhere to the policy set out below when acquiring, using, managing and otherwise handling personal information in connection with its business operations.

1. The Company will handle personal information properly in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines and in compliance with its own internal rules setting out the handling of internal rules for the protection of personal information.
2. The Company will only acquire personal information by legitimate means.
3. The Company will specify the purpose of use of personal information to the extent possible and will promptly inform you of the purpose of use, except in cases where the purpose of use is announced or publicized in advance. The Company will use your personal information only to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
4. The Company will obtain your consent before disclosing your personal data to any third party or will ensure that that necessary details of such disclosure are readily accessible to you. If the Company shares your personal data, it will inform you who it is sharing your personal data with and for what purpose or will ensure that that necessary details of such disclosure are readily accessible to you. If the Company entrusts a third party to handle your personal data, it will take appropriate steps to ensure that your personal data is managed securely.
5. The Company will provide education and training to its officers, employees and others to raise awareness of its privacy policy and internal rules.
6. The Company will establish organizations and a framework of responsibility to properly manage personal data and will also audit implementation status in a timely manner and make improvements without delay where necessary. The Company will also introduce appropriate security measures to prevent the leak or loss of personal data and destroy or delete, without delay, any personal data which it no longer needs to use. In the event of a leak or other information incident, the Company will promptly take steps to rectify the situation.
7. The Company will endeavor to ensure the accuracy of personal data and with establish a point of contact for dealing appropriately with complaints related to personal information or requests for disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of your personal data.

The Company will review this policy as appropriate and seek to improve it on an ongoing basis.

(1)Personal information about pharmacies, drug stores, wholesalers and others who sell drugs, medical devices, quasi drugs or other products (“products of subsidiaries and associated companies”) manufactured or sold by companies (subsidiaries and associated companies) belonging to the Taisho Pharmaceutical Group, which consists of the Company and its subsidiaries and associated companies, as well as doctors, dentists, pharmacists and other medical professionals
To manage and support subsidiaries and associated companies in relation to the operations shown below

(a)Transactions involving products of subsidiaries and associated companies and acts related thereto, as well as the provision, gathering, use and management of information relating to product quality, safety and efficacy, information relating to their appropriate use, and selling method, management method and market information and notification or reporting of such information to research groups, seminar groups, etc.
(b)Requests for clinical trials or post-marketing safety management/ surveillance and the implementation, use or management thereof
(c)Provision, gathering, use or management of information about fields such as medicine and pharmacology and other scientific information
(d)Notifications, reports or applications to government and other public agencies, the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan and other relevant organizations55 Japan

(2)Personal information about those who use the Company’s Corporate Communication Department, Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.’s Customer Hotline and Medical Information Center as well as other contact points of the Company and its subsidiaries and associated companies
For the Company’s operations described in (a) below and to manage and support the following operations from (a) through (c) of subsidiaries and associated companies

(a)For inquiries, investigations, reports, use and management in relation to interviews, consultations or contact received
(b)Contact with, supply to, use and management of manufacturers, sellers, medical professionals and others in relation to the quality, safety and efficacy of the products of subsidiaries and associated companies and
(c)Applications, notifications and reports to government and other public agencies, the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan and other relevant organizations about the quality, safety and efficacy of the products of subsidiaries and associates

(3)Personal information about those who response to various campaigns and questionnaire surveys conducted by the Company and its subsidiaries and associated companies or register with their websites
For management and support in relation to operations such as inquiries, investigations, reports, management and provision of benefits, etc. with respect to such campaigns and questionnaire surveys conducted by the Company and its subsidiaries and associated companies as well as matters required for website registration

(4)Personal information about users of Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.’s mail order operations For management and support in relation to the operations of Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. shown below

(b)After-sales service in relation to products

(b)To implement various measures to build good relationships with shareholders and to manage shareholders by, for example, creating data about shareholders based on prescribed standards pursuant to relevant laws and regulations
