In its drug design activities, it takes both the biological and chemical approaches and employs advanced computer graphics technologies to explore myriad possibilities. After carefully considering the needs of medical professionals, only those drugs that have been confirmed to be worthy of development are passed on to the Pharmaceutical Product Development Group. Overseas, Taisho is actively promoting joint research activities with foreign companies and institutions, including a tie-up with a bioventure firm in the United States to research various immunological disorders and inflammations.
