Collaborative Marketing of Topical Anti-inflammatory Analgesics,
"SUMILU STICK" and "SUMILU TAPE"

Mikasa Seiyaku Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Mikasa Seiyaku, President: Takumi Ogata) and Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Taisho Pharmaceutical, President: Akira Uehara) have entered into an agreement to undertake collaborative marketing of topical anti-inflammatory analgesics, SUMILU STICK and SUMILU TAPE (prescription products containing felbinac as the active ingredient).

SUMILU STICK and SUMILU TAPE are external non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and are very effective against osteoarthritis, scapulohumeral periarthritis, myalgia and other similar conditions. Mikasa Seiyaku released SUMILU STICK in July 1995 and added SUMILU TAPE to its line of products in September 2002.

This collaborative marketing agreement allows Mikasa Seiyaku and Taisho Toyama Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Taisho Toyama Pharmaceutical, President: Akira Uehara) to begin marketing SUMILU STICK and SUMILU TAPE during fiscal 2005. It is expected that the agreement will greatly increase sales of SUMILU STICK and SUMILU TAPE, and will strengthen Taisho Toyama Pharmaceutical's product range in the areas of inflammation and immunologic diseases.

* Taisho Toyama Pharmaceutical was established by Taisho Pharmaceutical and Toyama Chemical Co., Ltd. through a joint investment. It markets prescription products in Japan, specializing in inflammation and immunologic diseases.
