"Lipovitan" Series Introduces
New "Lipovitan Amino" and "Lipovitan Amino Gold"

  

Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) announced the release of two new additions to the "Lipovitan" series of quasi-drug, amino acid drinks. The new "Lipovitan Amino," an amino acid formula, and "Lipovitan Amino Gold," with added herbal ingredients, both go on sale June 16. 

Amino acids are currently one the most highly regarded product ingredients among consumers. The 100mL bottle of the quasi-drug "Lipovitan Amino" is a formulated blend of amino acids (BCAA*, arginine, taurine), B-complex vitamins and other ingredients. BCAA is a major component of muscle tissue, and arginine accelerates the body's metabolism, while the B-complex vitamins are effective in relieving fatigue and providing nutritional support. 
"Lipovitan Amino Gold," contains herbal ingredients, which participate in energy metabolism, a blend of "polygonatum rhizome" and "lycii fructus," and amino acids, that all work together toward effective body revitalization. 

*BCAA is an acronym for Branched Chain Amino Acid, an inclusive term for the three essential amino acids: valine, leucine, and isoleucine-major components of the body's muscle tissue.

There are 20 kinds of amino acids all of which are synthesized in the liver. Of the 20 amino acids, only 11 can be produced in the human body. The remaining nine must be obtained from outside sources, such as through diet intake. The amino acids are necessary to the body and are referred to as "essential amino acids."
