New Taisho Fukuoka Branch Building Completed
Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) will hold a Completion Ceremony, to commemorate the complete refurbishment of its Fukuoka branch building, on October 19, 2001 (Friday).
In order to keep apace of business expansion at the Fukuoka branch, Taisho invested a total of approximately 960 million yen from September 2000 to carry out the refurbishment work.
In addition to an interactive videoconferencing system, which connects the head and branch offices via satellite communication, the newly refurbished building introduces a wireless local area network (LAN) system and a newly configured high-speed, high-capacity network system. Furthermore, it adopts an in-building PHS (Personal Handyphone System), which enables in/out telephone transmissions from any location, and an information system platform with the state-of-the-art technology.
The exterior and interior of the building have also been completely renewed, and amenities (pleasant surroundings) have been improved. Electrical facilities were relocated on the roof from the basement, resolving problems related to flood damage, as were seen in June 1999.
The building's large conference hall, accommodating 220 people at a time on the seventh floor, has been refurbished with a large, electrically operated screen. On the sixth floor, a multipurpose conference room has been set up, where up to three meetings of various sizes can be held simultaneously. Both of these facilities are fully equipped for meetings with clients and local customers for various seminars and academic conferences.
The logistics division is intent on speeding up its operating capabilities, such as moving and updating its cargo elevators, and improving services to its clients by expanding space.
The Fukuoka branch was established in September 1974, but in recent years it had become necessary to refurbish the building in line with expanding business.
The current number of employees in the building totals 220, including the sales departments for self-medications and prescription pharmaceuticals, administration and information systems, the logistics departments and so on.
