Competition to Create Lipovitan D On October 10, 2001, Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) commenced the Lipovitan D Character Design Competition. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Lipovitan D, which has enjoyed immense popularity since its introduction in March 1962. Taisho has implemented a variety of activities to commemorate this milestone, including the new competition, which aims to discover a mascot character that will remind consumers of the keywords “Fight!” and “Ippatsu!” (Give it your best shot!). The competition is open to people of all ages and nationalities, and to professionals and amateurs alike. The Grand Prix winner will receive a cash award of three million yen and a certificate. Entries should visually express the Lipovitan D message “Exertion, Bonds of Friendship, Victory .” They should also contribute to enhancing the product's image, and raising consumer awareness and affinity.
