Taisho's Omiya Factory Receives ISO 14001 Certification

Taisho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Akira Uehara) has received ISO 14001 certification for the environmental management system at its Omiya factory from the KHK-ISO Center.

The Omiya factory, which manufactures most of Taisho's medical products, started operations in 1963. The Environment Division was established at the factory in 1978 to assure that Taisho preserved the local environment. To bring its environmental activities in line with international standards, Taisho began introducing ISO 14001 in April 2000 and received certification on February 23, 2001.

Taisho will continue strengthening its environmental management system, and plans to receive ISO 14001 certification at its other three manufacturing factories.
